The SE Electronics R1-Ribbon is an amazing piece of engineering. Its single Figure of 8 polar pattern is derived from an incredibly fine 1.8 micron Aluminum membrane. As such, the R1 has a higher-than-normal roll-off (at around 7kHz), and greater sensitivity, producing a more open and natural sound than you'd expect from a ribbon mic. The R1 is not so much a mic for a specific application but one that brings a smooth unique sound to ALL applications.

Recommended for: Electric Guitar, Drum Overheads, Brass, Vocals, Horn Sections, Woodwinds, String Sections, Broadcast/Voice Over.
